New Host and Moderators
I've received 5 applications for moderators and I'll be making my final choices by the beginning of next week. I'll likely be e-mailing everyone more information and some questions later today.

A huge thanks to everyone who applied! ^_^

I'm also beginning my search for a new Web host.

While I like what my current host offers, their speed, and reliability, their customer service is absolutely pathetic. Since most of my family uses my site for at least their e-mail, they're willing to chip in to help me get something new when tax returns arrive.

If you're interested in helping me search, I'm looking for:

- More than 10 gigs of bandwidth
- Decent customer service
- Linux / Unix / *NIX environment
- At least 5 subdomains (I'd prefer unlimited or cheap add on)
- Unlimited e-mail accounts
- Unlimited e-mail forwarders
- At least 1 FTP account
- MySQL 4.0 or better
- Perl 5.0 or better
- PHP 4.0 or better
- PHPMyAdmin, SpamAssassin, and at least some kind of Web mail installed
- Costs under $10 per month (yearly or 2 year renewal would be fine)

I don't need a massive amount of actual space, though more would be very nice. Total, Lunaescence takes up only 70MB. My main concern is their bandwidth, customer service, and scripting support, since I do use my domain to practice my college homework.

I haven't had much of a chance to look thanks to my finals, though some of my friends have suggested:
- Site5 (Cyra)
- ICDSoft (Hillary)

Current Mood: calm

I have yet to use godaddy.com for hosting but they do offer it. And they are always great with domain and ssl's in my opinion. I have never had to call their customer service yet though. So who knows how that is.

At work we host with olm.net They have a decent setup but their customer service SUCKS :P

Der!! *HUGS* Thanks so much! ^_^ I'll check GoDaddy out, though I'm probably going to skip olm.net. I've had enough crappy customer service to last a century.

When I had Jabberwocky.com I was on http://www.icdsoft.com/ ICDSOFT. AWESOME company, I totally recommend it. Hill currently hosts simple-type.org on there too.

I absolutely loved it and they had awesome customer service ^_^

I'm really happy to hear that. Right now, I think the major thing I'm looking for right now is a host who's actually competent.

After two weeks, these jokers deleted my support ticket without even bothering to address it. Hopefully our tax returns will be able to go for this. I'm really hoping.
